The 2025 Volkswagen Atlas is a mid-size SUV with three-row seating and lots of cargo space. If you're looking for a frame of reference, you can compare it to a Toyota Highlander, a Honda Pilot, a Ford Explorer, or a Kia Telluride.
Are there major differences between the 2025 Volkswagen Atlas and its predecessor?
Because the previous Atlas was a significant upgrade, and also because it was so well-received, Volkswagen isn't reinventing the wheel with the 2025 model. But that doesn't mean it's identical.
The new Atlas comes with better trim options packing more features, and some of these trims offer more exterior accent choices compared to the 2024 model. You'll also have wireless charging standard across trims now.
How many trims are available for the 2025 Volkswagen Atlas?
The 2025 Atlas offers 5 trims (one less than its predecessor). Each trim boasts a 2L four-cylinder turbocharged engine that churns out a solid 269 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque.
2025 Volkswagen Atlas SE
The base Atlas trim boasts Volkswagen's trademark IQ.DRIVE-a collection of smart driver-assist technologies. V-Tex leatherette seating surfaces with heated and ventilated front seats ensure your drive is super comfortable. The exterior has 18" machined alloy wheels with all-season tires.
2025 Volkswagen Atlas SE with Technology
The SE with Technology builds on the best of the base trim. Along with a 5,000 lb towing capacity, you'll also get a trailer hitch, hands-free easy open/close remote power rear liftgate, and park distance control (both front and rear). The exterior has 20" machined alloy wheels with all-season tires, a front grille with an integrated light bar, and an exterior illuminated emblem, dialing up the Atlas' sleek looks.
2025 Volkswagen Atlas Peak Edition
The Peak Edition is the Atlas' outdoorsy version. It has all-terrain tires over the 18" black alloy wheels. It comes with exclusive Peak Edition styling both, on the inside and the exterior. Multi-color adjustable ambient lighting really makes late-night drives super fun.
2025 Volkswagen Atlas SEL
The SEL trim boasts all-leather seating surfaces, a passenger power seat, a head-up display, and a 12" touchscreen navigation console, elevating the luxury on your drive.
2025 Volkswagen Atlas SEL Premium R-Line
The Premium R-Line is the best Atlas money can buy. Along with 21" machined alloy wheels and exclusive R-Line exterior styling, you can also expect perforated Vienna leather seating surfaces inside that come with massage-enabled front seats with 4-way lumbar support. You'll even have an overhead view camera and a Harman Kardon premium audio system.
